Meet Odin he’s here for his anal gland expression today. Anal glands are small sacs near the anus that produces a strong metallic fish like smell. Usually it will release on its own but sometimes it will fail to empty naturally. Scooting and licking the anus are the first signs of discomfort and it’s time to get expressed. Though Odin comes in a little nervous, we make his experience pawsitive. We show him much love by hugs, cheerful voices and using his favorite words “wanna go for a walk?” He’s ears perk up 😊🐶

As temperatures rise this week, it’s crucial to keep our pets safe and cool 🧊🐾 Heat safety is critical to keeping your dogs and cats happy and healthy during the hottest months☀️
☀️ Don’t leave pets in your car. Even with the windows down, the temperature will skyrocket.
☀️ Keep your pet hydrated.
☀️ Recognize the signs of overheating or heatstroke, including heavy panting, glazed eyes, weakness or collapse, excessive drooling, etc. Get your pet to a cooler area immediately and offer small sips of water. Contact your veterinarian!
☀️ Keep little paws away from pavement! If you cannot comfortably leave your hand on the pavement for 10 seconds, it’s too hot for your fur baby.
☀️ If your pet must be outside, please make sure they have plenty of shade/shelter, water, and any blowing breezes.
Be a responsible pet owner and take steps to keeping your dogs and cats safe this summer! ☀️🐶🐱
